Day 3 – Who am I in Christ?

Day 3 – Who am I in Christ?  Contributed by Deaconess Barbara Johnson

Meditative Thought:  I am called to accomplish God’s purpose.

Scripture Reference:

28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29) For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30) Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and who He justified; these He also glorified.                                                                                                                           Roman 8: 28-30

Lord Hear Our Prayer:

Gracious Father God, Please receive this prayer of petition for our new Pastor and our Church Family.  First I pray that your people, whom you fore called and who are called even today, give You glory, honor and praise for who You are.  Help us to be grateful for your mercy, grace, protection, and love for You have sustained us for over 175 years. You have blessed us so richly by raising up Godly men who have lovingly and rightly delivered Your Word to us. For this, we bless Your holy name.

I pray that the one whom You have now called to us will know who he is in Christ Jesus. It is my prayer that he will accomplish the purpose You have set before him to lead us down the righteous path. I pray he has a servant’s heart and that he will lead us to Jesus by the faithful preaching of Your Word.  We bless Your name.

Let us as Your people lovingly support, assist, and encourage him on his walk.  Help us to understand and know as a Church Family what our true purpose is.  Lead us and guide us so that we may glorify Your name.  Please, Father God, help us to have ears so that we may hear and then know Your will for us.  Please help us to be more like Your son Jesus the Christ.  We bless Your name.

Please have mercy on us and incline Your ear to us and hear our prayers for these 40 days of faithful, honest, and true petitions.  You said in Your Word “ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  For everyone who asks receives.  He who seeks finds.  To him who knocks it will be opened”. Your people are asking, seeking, and knocking.  Please hear our prayers and we ask for these blessings in the Name of Jesus, who is our friend, our brother, and our Savior.  In His Name only I pray. Amen.
