Meditative Thought:  We are One Body in Christ

Scripture References:

But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you have returned to me, strengthen your brothers  Luke 22:32

Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God  2 Corinthians 7:1

Now you are the Body of Christ, and each of you is a member of it.           1 Corinthians 12:27

Finally, brothers, rejoice! Aim for perfect harmony, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.                                      2 Corinthians 13:11

But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.                                                                                                                 2 Timothy 4:5

Lord Hear Our Prayer for:

Father God, we thank You for your love and kindness that never cease, and a special thanks for our new Pastor.  We lift our hearts in grateful praise and assurance that you saved us and have blessed us with gifts that fulfill needed roles as growing believers in this Body of Christ.

Dear Lord, in spirit and in truth, we anticipate bountiful blessings of new members, and we pray that your will prevails in our Orientation and Assimilation programs.  Please lead us in ministering with and to each other, working together as needs are met and promoting the edification of our whole church.  We thank You for the Holy Spirit that counsels and guides us to acknowledge your Word filled with messages of encouragement.  While sometimes there are warnings and hardships; with You we know there is always hope and lights of love and peace.

Father God, we love you and promise to the utmost to be faithful and remain mindful of the Vision and Mission of our Body of Christ here at Nineteenth Street Baptist Church.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
