Day 22 – Meditation and Study of God’s Word Contributed by Deaconess Hester Jones

Meditative Thought: Your Word have I hidden in my heart.

Scripture References:

For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.                                                                                                                       Hebrews 4: 12

Jesus says: If you abide in Me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.                                                                                                    John 15:17

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.                          Romans 12: 2

Lord Hear Our Prayer for Understanding of Your Word:

Father, we are so thankful for Your Word because it is one of our main lines of communicating with you.  Help us to understand that we must hide Your Word in our hearts that we may not sin against You. Father, we know that there isn’t anything that we cannot find an answer to in Your Word.  Your desire is that we use Your Word as a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our pathway as we navigate this life’s journey.  You want us to be persistent in our prayers and in our walk with you. Father, forgive us because we are a forgetful people and need to do things to help us remember what Your Word says about how we are to live. We know that when we meditate on Your WORD, it helps us to begin with remembering, that is bringing back to mind the truths, the praises and promises you have given us. Your Word also tells to not conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of our minds, that by testing we can discern what Your perfect will is for us.  Father, we know that Pastor Roberts will be guided by Your Word and will reveal it to us in His messages from You.  Help us to delight and enjoy the reading of Your Word. Father, we ask that the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight always. This prayer we pray for greater understanding and revelation of your Word.  Amen, Amen and Amen
