Day 29 – Worshiping Our Lord in Spirit and in Truth, Contributed by Deacon Johnnieque B. Love

Meditative Thoughts: Come; Let us worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth

Scripture References:

And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God, Then all the people answered, “Amen, Amen!  While lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.                                                                                                                                                           Nehemiah 8:6

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.                                                                         John 4: 23

Oh come, Let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation           Psalm 95: 1

Of come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture , And the sheep of His hand.                                        Psalm 95: 6-7

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of your countenance. In your name they rejoice all day long, And in your righteousness they are exalted.        Psalm 89: 15-16

Lord Hear Our Prayer:

Most gracious and loving Father, We praise You for the opportunity to come into Your presence. Our hearts tremble before You! You tell us that we are not to have any other “gods” before You; and in this we honor your request. From the days of old; Abraham built an alter for sacrifice and to worship You. Nehemiah the Prophet led the people in worship. As they came into Your presence they lifted their hands, and bowed their heads, with their faces to the ground in honor, and worshiped You.  Father, we are grateful that when we worship it is a time when we, as Your children feel so very close to You and can feel your hand of mercy at work in our lives. Father, we reverence You. We pray that as we worship, You will change our hearts and sanctify us as Your disciples equipped to do Your work here on earth. We pray that under Pastor Roberts’ leadership, we will be brought to a greater and deeper meaning of glorifying You in worship. Father, Your Word says in Psalm 95; “Let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Psalm 105 says; “We will rejoice all who worship the Lord.”  In Zephaniah 3:9; it says that we are to purify the speech of all when we worship the Lord.” And John 4:24 says; “But the time is coming….when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” Father, We are to worship You with our whole being. For this; we are eternally grateful. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Amen. and Amen.
