Day 40 – Keeping God First in My Life, Contributed by Deacon Kevin Little
Meditative Thought: “You shall have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:5
You shall not bow down to them nor serve them, for I the Lord your God is a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate Me, Exodus 20: 5-6
“No one can serve to masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money “ Matthew 6: 24
And He said to His disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? Luke 12: 22-24
Lord Hear Our Prayer:
O, Abba, Adonai, Jehovah-Rapha, Jehovah-Jireh. Our Father who art in Heaven and Abounds all around us hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; Forgive us our debts as we forgive the debts of others, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil for thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory. LORD, continue to guide and keep us, guiding us safely to and from our destinations and protecting us in the dwellings where we live, sleep, work, play and pray, Dear God. Continue to encamp Thy angels around us, above us, beneath us, behind us, before us and all around us, guiding us to the paths that Thy would have us walk and or lead. LORD, continue to extend to us Blessings, GOD of Thy Goodness, Help, Health and Comfort. GOD of Thy Unity. Strengthen us as forged steel and fired iron, making us well soldiers in Thy Service. Embellish us with power LORD, through the Blood of our Savior, Christ Jesus, spilled at Calvary and we beseech Thee to forever let Thy Holy Spirit dwell within us to continue to be our beacon of light and more in Thy Will GOD. Raise us up as more than conquerors, making our enemies to rest under our footstools. O’ GOD, our Father, who sat always with us, since the beginning and now in fulfillment of Thy will to the end of this temporal station, this temporal life to exist serving Thee everlasting through all eternity. In Christ Jesus, our Savior, my Savior, we humbly pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah!
