Deacon Jessie L. McCrae was ordained on Sunday, May 11, 2002. She is a member of the Evangelism and Jarvis Memorial ministries. Because of her prayerful concern and care for others and based on her own healing experience, she feels that more people can be healed through Jesus Christ if they have faith and trust Him. According to the scriptures, “The prayers of a righteous man availeth much.” She remains constantly in prayer for herself and others.
Jessie is a former resident of Bennettsville, SC, and takes great pride in being a graduate of the University of the District of Columbia. She is a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandparent. Jessie places high value in family relationships and in documenting and archiving her family’s history.
Deacon Richardson is a native of St. Louis, MO. She received secondary and college education in Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Webster College, Webster Groves, MO. In 1990 Deacon Richardson moved to the Washington, DC as part of a career move and united with the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church under the leadership of (pastor emeritus) Dr. Reverend Jerry Moore (former member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church in St. Louis, MO.)
During her career, she worked in the area of executive recruiting for two major retailers in the St. Louis area. She also served as the Human Resource Manager for AT&T and the Director of Human Resources for Lucent Technologies prior to her retirement.
Deacon Johnnieque B. (Johnnie) Love was ordained in March 2007. She is active in the New Members’ Ministry as one of its teachers. The New Members’ class meets on Sunday mornings at 8:30am.She is a member of the Music Ministry and serves in the Senior Choir, Mass Choir and the Gospel Choir. She also serves as the Archivist for the Deacon Board and the Church Librarian. She is one of the Spiritual Advisors for Circle No. 9 along with Deacon Leon Pierce.
Deacon Howard Smith was ordained in 2012. He is active in the Men’s Ministry, the Manhood Training Ministry and the Men’s Club. Howard is a DC native, avid sports fan and proud Hampton graduate. He has a heart for helping his brothers and sisters grow in their Christian walk. Howard is the spiritual advisor for Circle 11.
