“Lent is a season of Reflection, Consecration, Prayer, and Spiritual Renewal”
If my people, Who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sins and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
Through self-examination, consecration and repentance, prayer, fasting and self-denial that we consider the mercies of God through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. Lenten season begins Ash Wednesday, March 6, and will end Easter Sunday, the day that marks Jesus’ resurrection, April 21st.
By observing the 40 days of Lent, we as Christians, with faith and endurance, prayerfully emulate Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and amazing love. With expectation and gratitude; we look for ways to demonstrate God’s work in our lives. In collaboration with the Ministerial Staff of Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, we the Board of Deacons is committed to lifting our nation, city, our church and our families before God in study of The Word, Prayer, Consecration and Spiritual Renewal.
Before PRAYER, please share the focus for the day and the scripture with participants on the call.
All are encouraged to have Bibles available during the call.
